Members of the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club, Chane, Rhonda, and Linda, visited the Bridgewater Country Fair on Saturday, August 16. Cell phone service was a bit spotty so locating each other after arrival was a bit tricky in the large crowd of people. Fortunately, since great minds think alike, we all ended up at the same time in the building with the photography exhibit! To the group’s delight, they learned that fellow Flagpole member, Sandy Schill, had entered the photography competition and had won Best in Show! Rhonda and Linda noted that Sandy had taken her award-winning photo “Oops” of a Great Blue Heron dropping a fish into the water on a girls photo trip they had taken with her in Maine.
The trio also enjoyed searching for the many other items Sandy had entered into the fair’s competitions including other photos, one of which received a third-place ribbon, and her bread, eggs, and berry jam that were awarded first-place ribbons, in addition to some of her floral entries. Her husband, David, even received a first-place award for the honey his bees produced!
The warm sunny day had us looking for shade at times to cool off, but the action was hot too and provided for many photo ops!
Flagpole Photographers invites its members to suggest ideas for new outings through its member Meetup Forums. More information can be found at https://flagpolephotographers.com/members-only/member-info/#meetup.
