Flagpole Photographers Meetup At NYC’s B&H Photo Conference!

What an incredible (and long!) day some of our Flagpole Photographers Camera Club members had exploring the bustling B&H Photo Conference in New York City! Colleen, Rhonda, Chane & Robyn braved the crowds and came back with some fantastic experiences to share.

The conference, which was thankfully free to attend, was a massive event, drawing over 10,000 photography enthusiasts. Despite the sheer number of attendees, there was a truly impressive collection of photo opportunities both inside the venue and outside, extending to the scenic harbor cruise.

Our members noted the interesting sight of New York City’s iconic skyscraper tops partially shrouded in fog โ€“ a unique atmospheric touch that added to the photographic appeal. While getting into a good position for some of the prime photo ops was tricky and required patience (and some waiting!), the continuous lighting used at most stations was a real bonus. This meant that once you secured a sightline, you could capture shots without the added wait time of flash-based setups, which often had queues of 10 minutes or more!

Overall, it was a 15-hour day from start to finish, was more than worth it. An opportunity for learning, networking, and, of course, capturing some good photos!
