The Flagpole Holiday Party was enjoyed by 21 attendees who came together to celebrate the season. Newtown’s own Loree’s Fine Food catered the delicious array of amazing food that did not disappoint!
Chane Cullens created a video showcasing our 2024 competition photos, accompanied by the nostalgic tunes of top songs to view while guests arrived and during dinner.
After the crowd finished eating, a third place tie had to be broken in our annual holiday photo competition, which this year had “Sweet” as the assigned subject. A show of hands for the favorite of all members in the room also resulted in a tie! We then went to the two spouse guests in the room to decide on the winner. The final results revealed that “Christmastime Sweets” by Rhonda Cullens took first place, “Adding the Brûlée to Crème Brûlée” by Chane Cullens came in second, and “Slice of Heaven” by David Ober beat out “Caramel Brownie Cheesecake” by Kerry Ober by a very narrow margin for third.
Shortly before the party began, a nearby photographer donated some photography equipment and backdrops to the club. These items were then offered to those in attendance. One item in particular resulted in also becoming somewhat of a party game. The very large oval reflector diffuser served as a challenge as to who could get it to fold back up into the case before another lucky member took it home with them!
Finally, to top off the evening, several members brought “Sweet Treats” for dessert which fit in perfectly with our assigned subject! Thanks to all for making it a very “Sweet” evening!
