We are excited to announce our participation in a thrilling photography competition against New Haven Camera Club on February 17, 2026. The competition will be conducted virtually, where an esteemed judge will carefully select the “best” photo from each category. The club that secures the most wins across the 25 categories will be crowned the ultimate winner.
We’ve got a two-part competition going on here! Firstly, within our club, we’re running an internal competition to select the top photo for each of our 25 categories. Then, the real excitement begins as we go head-to-head with New Haven Camera Club. It’s our best photos facing off against their best photos in each category.
Don’t hold back! You can upload two photos for every single category. The more options we have, the stronger our team will be against New Haven. Even if you only get one or two into the finals, your uploads help raise the bar for the whole club.
Submission Rules
- Upload Limit: You may submit up to 2 photos per category. With 25 categories, that means you can upload up to 50 photos total!
- Final Team Selection: While you can submit many photos, our final slate of 25 photos (one per category) will feature a variety of members. No single photographer will have more than 2 photos in the final competition against New Haven.
- No Time Limit: Dig into your archives! The standard 3-year limit on when a photo was taken does not apply for this competition.
Photo selection timeline
- Jan 1 – Feb 3: Upload Period Open – Submit up to 2 photos per category.
- Feb 4 – Feb 10: Club Voting – Help us pick the best photo for each category.
- Feb 11 @ 7:00 PM: Final Selection Meeting (Zoom) – The committee will review the top-voted photos and finalize our lineup. (We will resolve ties and enforce the “max 2 photos per member” rule here).
- Feb 17 @ 7:30 PM: Live Judging & Dessert – View In Person at the Newtown Senior Center. Also, online.
