Free Flagpole Photography Class Saw Great Attendance

“Attendees ask questions at the end of Linda Lubinsky’s presentation on February 11. An avid photographer, Ms Lubinsky was the guest presented during a free workshop hosted by Flagpole Photographers Camera Club.”
Flagpole Photographers Camera Club’s most recent event, a free “Know Your Camera” workshop on February 11, attracted many camera novices and photography enthusiasts.
Linda Lubinsky started off the evening with a short lecture about camera basics that included some of her personal photos for visual demonstration. Afterwards, everyone was encouraged to ask questions, try out the new knowledge at interactive stations, or practice different settings with the assistance of other photographers.
The club is hoping to welcome some of the attendees as new club members during its next competition night on Thursday, February 25, at 7:15 pm, at Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook. The assigned subject “No Hand of Man” is similar to the Nature category in the sense that the photos cannot show any evidence of humans or human activity (including mowed grass, farm animals, etc).
While the competition is only open to members, the public is invited to listen to critiques and learn about photography. There is no charge to attend Flagpole Photographers Camera Club competitions. Members compete in a different assignment each month, as well as in three additional categories: Open Digital, Open Color and Open Monochrome.
Flagpole Photographers is a local non-profit group that enables members to share their images and expertise, to learn and grow in their photography, and to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers who come from diverse backgrounds, with photographic skills ranging from beginning novices to professionals.
New members are always welcome to join the club and may enter their work in monthly club competitions, participate in workshops, take field trips, get involved in community programs, and take part in annual exhibits.
Dues are $35 per person or $55 for a family. Students may join at no charge.
