Program – The Art of Black and White Photography by Lewis Katz

Visitors are welcome to attend this free event.

The black and white presentation is a unique combination of the “how to” with the “why and when,” which sets it apart from other classes regarding black and white photography. This presentation will begin with a brief look at photos created by some of the “masters” and include topics such as pattern, texture, shape, and light. Mr. Lewis Katz will also discuss color theory and its importance in creating dramatic black and white conversions. He will convert some personal photos using both Lightroom and DXO Nik software, demonstrating how to create both visual and emotional impact. The program will conclude with a Q&A period.

Lewis has over 24 years with the Baltimore Camera Club, is currently an instructor for the Johns Hopkins Odyssey program and the Smithsonian Associates program.
