Program – Lighting Cars and Still Life
Visitors are welcome to attend this free event.
Overview
Start your engines for this program night! Take a ride to Fairfield Hills where we will photograph cars and motorcycles. We’ll creatively light the scene with gels, smoke and light painting. But if you’re in the mood for something on a smaller scale, how about trying your hand at “forced perspective” photography. Bring your camera and toy cars (1:18 scale or larger preferred) for a creative twist on car photography. We’ll also have some still life to practice light painting as well inside. Bring a tripod or borrow one there.
Note: Some outdoor events will be weather dependent.
Hands-On Activity Stations Inside and Outside
- Outside: A “Riley” motorcar. Thanks, Adam! And a jeep with colorful lights! Thanks, Matt and Jessica!
— Anyone else have a vehicle to bring to the program? - Inside: Transforming a toy old pick-up and cabin into a life-size winter wonderland scene.
- Outside/Inside: Using model cars and forced perspective to create a life-size illusion in front of a Fairfield Hills building or other backdrops.
