Flagpole Photographers Camera Club March Events
Flagpole Photographers Invite You to their March Events
Flagpole Photographers Camera Club would like to invite everyone to our rescheduled ‘Know Your Camera’ presentation. Bring your camera and join them March 9th for their ‘Know Your Camera’ presentation. Whether you just got a new camera or are ready to explore other settings, this is the night for you. After an overview of the basic settings, get hands on experience at different stations. Experienced photographers will be at each station to help you learn the important fundamentals. This will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 7:30pm at the Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
The assigned subject for March is “Metal”. There is a lot of metal in this world around us. Use your creativity to capture an image of “metal” in any form you choose. This will be held on March 23rd at 7:15pm at the Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
As a follow on to the ‘Know Your Camera’ presentation, the club will be holding a 6-hour workshop on April 22. This hands-on workshop is a great way to boost your photography skills while capturing photos of historic Newtown and Sandy Hook. Work side-by-side with award winning photographers for the entire session. For more information on the ‘Newtown Photography Workshop’ see https://flagpolephotographers.com/event/newtown-photography-workshop.
Flagpole members compete in a different assignment each month, as well as in three additional categories: Open Digital, Open Color, and Open Monochrome. While the competition is only open to members, the public is invited to listen to critiques and learn about photography.
The club would also like to make mention of a few upcoming calendar changes. The still life presentation being hosted by Charles Batchelder has been moved to April 13. The Night Photography Presentation hosted by Darrell Harrington will be moved to May 13, to be combined with the Night Photography Field Trip already on the schedule. More information on those events will be forthcoming and also available at flagpolephotographers.com.
There is no charge to attend Flagpole Photographers Camera Club competitions. Flagpole Photographers is a local non-profit group that enables members to share their images and expertise, to learn and grow in their photography, and to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers who come from diverse backgrounds, with photographic skills ranging from beginning novices to professionals.
New members are always welcome to join the club and may enter their work in monthly club competitions, participate in workshops, take field trips, get involved in community programs, and take part in annual exhibits. Dues are $35 per person or $55 for a family. Students may join at no charge.
