About "Vision, Passion, and Projects"

Cole Thompson is widely known for his remarkable portfolios, including Melting Giants, The Ghosts of Auschwitz-Birkenau, Monoliths, and Harbinger. In this educational seminar Cole will challenge mainstream conventions by prioritizing internal artistic vision over technical perfection and expensive gear.
He will share his insights on transitioning from taking disconnected images into creating deeply personal, cohesive bodies of work, exploring:
  • Where his ideas come from and why a good idea isn't enough.
  • How he creates projects and the rules for building them.
  • His least favorite type of portfolio and the project you should give up on.
  • The foundational pillars of Vision (finding your "photographic celibacy" by blocking out external trends) and Passion (focusing strictly on subjects that produce a deep emotional response).
  • His personal creative formula: 1/3 vision, 1/3 the shot, and 1/3 processing.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn how classic, timeless black-and-white processing can be leveraged to convey profound human emotions. Please make sure to register at the link above and join us at 2:15 PM on June 20!
Thanks for reading, we'll see you soon!
